Birthday Girl

My baby girl turned 2 last month. I can't believe it! She's growing so fast. We took her down to a local art museum to take her photos. They have beautiful gardens that are open to the public. Here are some of my favorites:

Custom Christmas Cards

AmberLight Photography presents:

Semi-custom holiday card designs! Tired of sending the same old store-bought cards to your friends and loved ones year after year? This year, send them something they’re sure to display on the mantle – a custom-designed holiday card with your family’s picture and your choice of greeting.

You pick the design and e-mail me a high resolution photo. I can change your photo to high-contrast black and white, old-fashioned sepia tone, washed-out vintage, or leave it as is. You also choose the font, type, and wording of your card. When you are satisfied with the appearance of your card, I will e-mail you a high-resolution jpeg file for a 5 x 7 custom card that you can then take to your choice of printers.

Here are the available designs:

To purchase, paypal your payment of $20.00 to psalm149@hotmail.com.

*Please note* - This is a digital product. The client is responsible for having the actual cards printed. Many Internet photo sites now offer folded card and postcard printing and for very reasonable prices, including Shutterfly, Winkflash, and Wal-Mart, to name a few. Most of their card packages include envelopes. I encourage you to research printing companies to determine which might best meet your needs. Please be sure to choose the 5 x 7 option when you order your cards, or the formatting will not be correct. I will be happy to assist you in finding a printing company for your custom card design.

If you have any questions, please e-mail me at amberlightphotography@gmail.com

Tardiness

Oh well, so much for having a daily blog. It's been longer than I anticipated.

Since my last post, there was a very unexpected death in my family, which has been very difficult, to put it mildly. Then both of the kiddos got sick. K ended up with a double ear infection before it was all over. Yikes! Anyway, I guess things are starting to get back to "somewhat" normal around here.

Now to today's photos. About a week and a half ago, the local high school had their homecoming parade, and it passed right by our house. We took the kids out to see it. N couldn't care less, but K had a blast! M caught a few beads for here, and I took these photos after the parade was over. Here she is, admiring her treasures. Enjoy!

swinging

While we were visiting my mom, I took K to the little playground down the road. She's still pretty hesitant about playgrounds. She's very wary of the other kids running around, and she plays very cautiously. It takes her a while to loosen up and enjoy herself. To make her more comfortable, I put her in the toddler swing and just pushed her for a little while. She really enjoys swinging, and before long she was ready to run, shout, and play with the best of them.

siblings

So a couple of weekends ago we went up to visit with the in-laws. While we were there I decided to get that "perfect" shot of K and N, since I didn't really have any pics of them together yet. Well, we tried and tried and tried to get her to cooperate, but she just would not do it. She did not want to sit in that chair with her brother! This is what I ended up with:

I was so bummed that I didn't get that perfect shot, but maybe I did after all.

the beginning

So this is the beginning of my photo blog. I've seen some really great ones out there, and they've inspired me to start my own. I'm sure at first I will be the only person reading this. That's okay. I need to hold myself accountable for taking pictures and not slacking. I don't know how "daily" this blog will actually be, but hopefully I'll get on here pretty regularly and share some photos, experiences, and/or tips. Thanks for stopping by, and come back to see me soon!
